Artistic Commissions

The planning and realization of an artistic mosaic within the framework of public art (“Kunst am Bau”) require experience as well as comprehensive knowledge of materials and techniques. I provide in-depth consultation to artists and take on the planning and execution of public art projects in mosaic technique.

To fully grasp the artistic concept and transform a design into a mosaic work that is both of the highest quality and sustainable is my goal in collaborating with artists. In this way, mosaic and art become true mosaic art.

Restoration of Historic Mosaics

The restoration of mosaics requires experience and a solid understanding of historical techniques. Through my training in traditional mosaic art, I am familiar with a wide range of methods, including historical techniques. My daily work with traditional materials and tools, together with more than 30 years of experience, form the foundation of my restoration practice for historic mosaic surfaces.

My services include:

  • Cleaning of mosaic surfaces

  • Restoration of smalti mosaics

Restoration projects

Bespoke Mosaics

Wherever you envision a mosaic, I create it for you at the highest level of craftsmanship. My aim is to develop a timeless design that does justice to the enduring and sustainable nature of mosaic as an artistic medium.

I primarily work with the three classical mosaic materials: smalti (glass mosaic), gold mosaic, and natural stone. All surfaces are custom-made in my Berlin studio and subsequently installed on site as wall, ceiling, or floor mosaics.

Lecturing & Workshops

Weekend Mosaic Courses

Our weekend courses are open to anyone interested in mosaic art — artists, craftspeople, and educators seeking a solid foundation for professional application.

We teach the fundamentals of mosaic technique in both theory and practice. With step-by-step guidance, each participant creates a 25 × 25 cm mosaic using traditional materials: marble and Murano glass smalti.

All tools are provided. Group sizes are intentionally kept small — a maximum of 8 participants — to ensure individual attention and support.

Lectures and Teaching

We offer engaging talks and hands-on instruction on classical and contemporary mosaic techniques. Whether for universities, art schools, museums, or creative institutions, we’re happy to share our expertise — from materials and tools to process, history, and practical methodology.
